Revenge of the Soccer Moms: How Obama lost ... - Riehl World View

Socialize RWV:

The AP picks up on the Obama is losing women voters meme today. I touched on the subject back on the 18th: ?the politics of the Left are unraveling and Team Obama remains in a serious panic.? Back in the day ? and NJ ? we?d joke about having your rap down if you wanted to?engage?a woman. It?s the same deal if you want to engage a man. But who wants to talk to them?

? suddenly, a couple of weeks ago, Obamas edge with women?began to melt away. More than any other group, women have accounted for Romneys surge in the polls, which has now given him a slim lead in the national popular vote and in some calculations of the electoral college. Women, it appeared, were not as firmly ensconced in Obamas camp as they had seemed. Indeed, they were abandoning the president en masse.

If my premise is correct, this below won?t work.

The evidence that Obama finds himself bleeding women?votes can be seen in how aggressively his campaign has sought to steer the conversation back to womens issues. Campaigning a few miles from here on Friday, Obama stood at a podium flanked by ?Womens Health Security? banners; he was introduced by Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, and spoke against a?backdrop?of risers filled exclusively with women, holding turquoise ?FORWARD.? signs -?via Revenge of the Soccer Moms: ? Obama?s often effective but still short-sighted politics of division are coming home to roost. Your average voter, male or female, is thinking mostly along the same lines. They?re worried about jobs, savings, the economy, their family, etc?.

Obama hasn?t shifted to a more centrist politics in the General, as he did in 2008. He may have lost touch with your average voter, as his administration ? and campaign ? are pretty much stuck inside the Washington political bubble. On top of that, with economic issues so?universal?and critical in this election, I?m thinking he?s trying to reach segments of voters ? in this case women ? who are thinking as simply average voters and Americans, not members of a particular political interest group.

Whatever it is, I hope it keeps up, leading to his being un-elected in November. America just can?t afford four more years of this guy and his flawed and failed policies at this point.
